Hi Judy,
You mentioned Andrew was born in Arhus, Denmark, yet by the age of 10 he was living in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany? Arhus is not really that close to Schleswig-Holstein. Do you have any idea why his family moved from Arhus to Schleswig-Holstein when he was a small boy? I do know that there is a large Hamann clan in Schleswig-Holstein, so perhaps Andrew was related to them? Of course, that would contradict him having to "escape from the Germans"... Do you know exactly where in Schleswig-Holstein he was living? Finally, are you trying to figure out his ancestry, or are you trying so learn more about what happened to his descendants?
