Hammes around 1820 ,Hunsrueck/Germany

Does anyone have any information on how the Hammes surname got into the Bauermann family, around mid 1800's in Altweidelbach, Germany. The Bauermann's ran a flower mill in a little valley along the Simmerbach, or the Altweidelbach. The mill's common name then, and until ca. mid 1970's was Eselsmuehle.
Also, who has information on the Hammes family crest?
