Hi Tina,

The surname Hammes is wellknown at Morshausen (Rhineland-Palatinate, about 30 kilometres south of Koblenz/Germany) since the 1600s. I don't have all the papers here but I've got some information about two Hammes families mentioned in the first known parish records of Morshausen. I'll send you the information in a privat mail.
By the way, the first name "Laurence" or: in German "Lorenz", in the old records often mentioned as "Laurentius" seem to be typical for the Morshausen line of the Hammes family.

Greetings from Germany
Baerbel Hammes
