Am searching for information on Hampels from Graase, Breslau, and possibly Leignitz in Silesia. Specifically direct links to Christian and Anna (Arndt) Hampel, their son Gottfried Hampel b: 19 Nov 1836, and any other siblings, aunts and uncles.

Have three letters from Silesia to Gottfried Hampel in the USA in the late 1800's. One from Gottfried Scholz of Raschwitz in 1889; the second from Julianne Gerstenberg of Graase in 1886; the third from Anna Hampel (perhaps Gottfried Hampel's mother) of Breslau in 1883. Scholz and Gerstenberg refer to Gottfried Hampel as "Uncle". None have been completely translated, but one refers to the "Breslauer Uncles."

Family lore says Gottfried Hampel's family was headed for Australia in 1880, but changed ships for the USA.

Other surnames include: Kaellner, Strauch.
