John Franz Hampel AKA Hemphill -b. 10 Oct 1856 Wisconsin

Here is an update on John Franz Hampel AKA Hemphill. I found him on the 1860 Census as the child of John Hampel and Caroline. He was living with his parents in Racine County, Wisconsin. Also, in the home were siblings William Hampel, born abt 1842; Charles Hampel, born abt. 1848; and Ameilia Hemphill born abt. 1854.
The Mormon records on this John appear to be mixed up, although numerous people seem to have submitted this name, they attached John to a different family. This was probably because John appears to have changed his name from Hampel to Hemphill. He then moved to another state and eventually died in Woodburn, Oregon, on 26 Sept 1939. He is reported to be buried at Belle Passi Cemetery, Woodburn, Oregon.
John appears to have married Louise Wilhelmina Krenske on April 18, 1878, in Paynesville, Minnesota.
If anyone has additional info. on this Hampel line, please contact me at zoetom@cox.net
