Guess we will agree to disagree and I disagree, I quote your response, "The reason I see John Hampton Jr. (son of John Sr.) having only three children: Isabell, George & Thomas, because this what the original records in NJ & VA tells me.
We can't read into records what we want to believe."
Taking your advice that we can not read into the records what we want to believe, you might more correctly say that John Sr had at least 3 children or that we have record of at least three children. The fact is, we don't know how many children he had, he may have had 12 or 15 or 18, we just don't know about the others? You cannot say colnclusively that he had 3 children, you can only accurately say "we don't know how many children john Sr had, but he had at least 3."
Based on my 20 yearsof detailed research incluidng all of which you heretofore have mentioned, I say there is a good possiblity based upon the preponderence of the best available evidence that he may also have had a son named John Jr. It is proven that there were 3 Hampton brothers in Frederick County VA, John Jr, George and Thomas and possiblibly a 4th = Andrew and one Isabel Hampton Johnson Jump.
We know that John Hamptn SR also had a son named Thomas, "the records tell us so:" 28 Aug 1747 Hampton to Hampton} Deed of Gift

We know because the records tell us so that Thomas Hampton had a brother named John Jr Hampton:15 Aug 1751. We know that John Hampton Jr had sons named John, David, Andrew and William, the records tell us so.
This is only part of the facts of record and you can choose to say these folks cannot be proven to be related, I choose to say you cannot prove they are not related :-) and "my research indicates there is a strong possibility that they are." I didn't say conclusive of proven, I just said a strong possibility that they are related. Simply stated, there is evidence that suggests it. They had business dealings with each other, they were surety for each other, they lived next to each other, etc. Also John the 1683 NJ immigrant had sons named John, David, Andrew, Jonathan, Noah and Joseph in that order. This John Jr's children have 3 of those names John, David, Andrew. Not proof, just an indication of a possibility.
Good luck with your research.
