My maiden name is Mary-Jane Handler. My grandfather was Edward John Handler. My father was Edward John Handler Jr. I am sure we are part of your Handler family, however, my brother, Edward J. Handler 3rd and I always believed our great grandfather's name was Maxmillian. I was born in New Jersey in 1934 and have photos of myself with the "old father" probably taken in 1935.My grandfather owned a vacation house in Washington,NJ near where his father lived.I suppose Robert Handler would be the "Bobby" that I heard reference to from my parents.
A couple of family notes-
I recall that one of the family members lived in Flint and her husband was comptroller of that city. I knew (slightly)my grandfathers's sister,Aunt Susan (Bond). She lived in N.J. I believe she graduated from Normal School and was a teacher. She had a radio program in NJ and also self-published a magazine.I knew Aunt Molly(Olson) rather well. Her son Lawrence (Larry)and my father were friends. Larry married (first name?)Maristani from Puerto Rico. They met in dental school (U. of Md??) The lived in Ponce where he practised dentistry and maintained an apt. in San Juan.Their son attended medical school in the US.
One of the genealogy messages mentioned that one of the Handler siblings played the violin. My grandfather also played. By the way, you might want to pull up "Handler Dental Manufacturing"-not sure of the exact title. That was my grandfather's company.
