Thanks for the input. While I have learned more about the Hanel's since my original posting, I have not found from where or exactly when they sailed. I have narrowed the likely date to between 1876 and 1879. I have also not located the place of origin for them. I have a memory, correct or not, of my eldest brother asking my great grandmother where her husband was from. She pointed to a map and my brother said, "that's in East Germany."

Do you have any additional information about where in Saxony your Hanel's came from?
