I have some Haining information which was copied to me so I have not had chance to verify any of it yet, but your message contained some similar names and dates.
My Grandfather was called Martin Haining Armstrong, his mother was Margaret (Meg) Haining, she had 8 siblings: John, Catherine Jane, John, Mary Ann (Molly), William, James Martin, George and Isabella. They were all born in the 1860s and 1870s.
Her father was James Martin Haining b abt. 1840, her grandfather was also James Martin Haining b abt.1814 and her GreatGrandfather was William Haining b abt 1775.
The birthplaces are mainly in Thornhill, Middlebie, Lochmaben, Brydekirk
I also have some other names but I have not had chance to put it all together yet.
