John,
I have recently learned of the existence of Jane Haining, the Scottish born woman who died in a WW2 Nazi death camp. This is interesting to me because it seems Jane's mother was a Jane Mathison, of the Closeburn, Dumf. area. My great grandmother was another Jane Mathison from Glencairn. Her parents were James Mathison & Mary Laidlaw. I believe it is James' parents, James Mathison & Mary Forsyth, who are buried in Moniaive, where I visited in 1984. I wonder if you might have anything to add to this? Thank you.

Mary
