Hanratty s daughter Margaret who was shipped
to Adelaide was married to a man called
Frederick Flavel.Perhaps Laurence passed this
name down in his family?!!.
I do feel that given that LH was a policeman in America somtime from 1845 to at least
1864 there must be police archives of a
list of previous Superitendents of POLICE
Would you be able to find an address for the
police archivist of eg New York?.
I wrote to the Chief of Police NY and Boston
a few years ago, but they never repliied.
