Pat,

I don't know how I can help you when you haven't given me the specifics on where your ancestors came from. Since you have 18 days left before you leaves for Ireland. There are several towns I can list where you can make inquiries; Drogheda and Dundalk in County Louth; Carrickmacross and Castleblaney in County Monaghan; and Crossmaglen and Forkhill in County Armagh. In Drogheda, there's a Hanratty public house, and in Dundalk, you can inquire at the Dundalk historical society. In Carrickmacross, inquire at the parish house (Drumore?). In Castleblaney, there's a Hanratty's genealogist, Martin Hanratty. In Crossmaglen, stop at St. Patrick RC Church, and Hanrattys are abundant in Forkhill. Hanrattys are commonplace in those areas, and I know definitely, they will help you. Please get back with me. Maybe I can help you some more. Good luck.

Jack
