Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
I haven't forgotten you. I misplace Martin Hanratty's address somewhere but I will get back with you about him. In your email, you mentioned Newry as the original place of Peter Hanratty before he emigrated to Liverpool. In and around Newry, there are several townlands under the division of Donaghmore, they are Ardarragh, Curley, Gransha, Lisserboy, Loughorne, Ouley, and Shinn. As you know, much of County Down's population would be of protestant persuasions. The Catholics would settle in the South Down area or in County Armagh, which is the parish of Upper Creggan. Right now, I don't have anything on him. Meanwhile, have you checked www.genuki.org.uk? In that website, you can find out a lot about the Irish in Liverpool. Until then, I'll get back with you so bear with me. Take care.
