My email address has changed since I received the note from Alex Dow. I have found a little more information
about my Hanratty ancesters in Scotland. My great grandfather Barnard Hanratty and Catherine McGuire were
married on Jan. 30, 1855 in Lanark Scotland. My grandfather Peter Hanratty was born on December 26 or 27 in
1863. His father [Barnard] was a miner and died in 1873. Peter orked in the mines until he was immigrated to
the U.S. 1882 or 1883. Any additional information would be appreciated. There are a number of Peter Hanrattys
and I emagine all of them were nicknamed Pete. It is my understanding that Barnard was born in Ireland and
immigrated to Scotland during the potato famine. I have no idea where or what his parent's names were.
