I checked Vol.II (pg 810) and it shows William J. Hansford md. Martha Loftis 26 Jul 1847.
They show up in the 1850 census of Bradley Co.,Tn. and the 1860 census that show the following:
Hansford, William J.43Georgia
Martha E.27?Tenn
James S.10"
John F. M.8"
Wm W.6"
Mary A.C.4"
Francis E.1"
There was a son named Joseph that was one month old during the 1850 census...may have died.

The Garrett books states:
"There is a possibility that the fourth child of Thomas Scott (Hansard) and Penelope A., was a son named William J."
---
If this is true then his heritage would be....
Thomas Scott Hansard (pg 807) b. ca 1785-1790 in Wilkes Co.,Ga (the part which became Elbert Co in 1790).. He was a minor when his father (William Hansford/Hansard) made will Apr, 1798.This William was born about 1739 Hanover Co.,Va? and married Janet Brown 11 Jan 1768 Amelia Co.,Va.
This William was a brother to my John Hansard of Bedford Co,Va.
They were sons of William Hansford/Hansard who was probably born in Ireland and was in Hanover Co.,Va by 1738.dead by 1750 in Henrico Co.,Va.Married to Bathsheba Archer (d. aft 1783) She married -- Nelson, then Zachariah Ellit Chesterfield co.,VA 1758.
The line goes back (Richard-Richard-Richard-Hugh-Hugh-William Handforde, merchant tailor of St. Mary's Woolchurch, London). He married Jeromy Atkynson (dau. of Thos.)14 Jul 1560.
Send me your address if you want me to copy the portion of the Garrett book that applies to your line.
I'd be happy to share.
