I also have a great grandfather named George Hanselmann. Mine was born in 1869 in Belleville, St. Clair County. His parents were Lorenz Hanselmann and Catharina Opp Hanselmann who were both born in Germany in the 1830's. I don't know when they came to America but it is possible that they too came during the revolution of '48. The family came to St. Louis around 1890. Any relation?
