Jennifer, this is to correct previous posting today's date (4/05/00) regarding my maternal grandparents; I mistyped g'g'grandmother's name as Mattie Mary, but it should have been Mary Jane Speers. I found Mary Jane Speers of KY (who was my maternal great great grandmother) was married to a Samuel Hanselman b. 1837 in Germany and lived in Illinois according to a posting by George Hanselman. In conversations with my mother, she was not sure of her grandparents given names except for her grandmother, Mary Jane Speers, who was a Cherokee Indian, and Mother was very young when they came to visit them in OK, but she thought they lived in the Sulphur Springs, TX area. Possible they had several sons, Jake(or Jacob), Willie (may have been William), at least one daughter, Mary Jane who married M. Greene Holbert: their issue: Kathryn, Laura, Emma, Jake and Willie. I am putting this in like this because I have heard the names repeated for each generation and research is still ongoing - it seems as if there is a Mary in each generation as well as Jacob, William, John and Samuel - all biblical names. If anyone can clarify please let me know. Thanks
Anne Mego
