Circa 1920s photo of Minnie Hanson (married name Byard)
Posted by: Paul Peterson (ID *****2235) Date: October 22, 2011 at 16:20:01
  of 2515

I purchased the subject studio portrait of an elderly woman taken by Sol. Young, New York, NY. It is identified on the holder:

"Mrs Wm V. Byard
Warrie's grandmother.
The former MINNIE HANSOM [sic]"

This individual is listed in the 1880 Census data for Sharon, Mercer Co., PA; the 1900 Census data for Manhattan Borough (resided on West 129th Street), New York, NY; and the 1920 Census data for Plainfield (resided at 980 West 6th Street), Union Co., NJ.

Minnie Hanson, born Jan 1848 in England (immigrated 1849), married a druggist/drug clerk, William V. Byard, born Jul 1846 in PA. The couple had seven children, including Elsie Byard, born about 1872 in PA; Warrton Byard, born about 1874 in PA; Harry Byard, born about 1876 in PA; Maude Byard, born about 1878 in PA; and Herbert Reed Byard, born 13 Mar 1909 in PA, died 9 Jun 1995 in Charlotte Co., FL.
