I was most interested in seeing the post mentioning Samuel Hanway/Hanaway who had married, as his first wife, Tabitha Lane.I knew that she was dead by 1854 when the land of her father, John Lane (& Rachel Harrod) was divided. Her five children received her share of the money when the land was sold.I have the records on their names if anyone is interested.I would like to have dates and details on Samuel if they are available.I do not have a marriage date for them.Samuel was named as one of those in charge of the care of the minor children of John and Rachel when he died in 1825.(With their monther, Rachel, and eldest brother, William Lane.)
There is also another Hanway/Hanaway in my husband's family. This concerns the Tipton family.I have the record for a marriage between Benjaman F. Tipton and Manerva Hanway on 31 Dec 1886 but no place. They are both buried at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Fairfield County, OH.
I have often wondered if the two Hanway/Hanaways were related and would welcome any input this group could give me.Jeane T. Lane
