I have never heard of the Christiana riot on 9/11/1851 until today when I received an email from one of my black cousins. She said that "I heard that the Dickinson's (white, black and mixed) took part in the Christiana riot on 9/11/1851" The Dickinson's were quakers, so I also do not believe that they ever had owned any slaves, but I do not doubt that they were helping the slaves. What do you know about the riot? Thank you, Mary
