Hi Paul, I asked my father in law if he had an uncle by the name of Herman Harder, and he said that he did.He does not really remember him,but knows that his father Eric did have a brother by that name. The other information that have is that Eric was born in Walmen,France Jan.19,1907.When he left Germany to come to Canada he left from Holstein (?). I have a book coming to me this week with a little bit of history about Eric and his family so when I learn more I shall let you know. There may be a connection here. And I was told that it was the early 1900's when Eric and Erna came over on the boat.
Hopefully this info helps you out a little bit.Sincerely Manon.
