Harder/Campbell TN 1850 Make sense?

I believe that, after much searching, I have found my great-great grandparents in the 1850 Tennessee Census. The Census lists my gg grandfather as HARDER CAMPBELL. He is 63, and his wife, Grace is 42. Children include my g grandfather, George Jefferson Campbell. Could Harder have gotten his first name from his mother's maiden name? Does this ring a bell with anyone? The census states that both Harder and Grace were born in Tennessee. He would have been born in 1787. Can anyone help me in this matter?
Thanks,
Patti
