Harder family from Mechlenburg, Prussia

I am looking for information on the Harder side of my family.
My great great grandfather Heinerich (Henry) came from Mechlenburg, Prussia along with his wife Maria (Mary) nee Warner sometime approximately 1900 and moved to Huron County in Michigan. One child I know of is, Frederick John (my great grandfather) born in 1880, also in Prussia. He married Louise (Lene) Emma Hintz.
My grandfather William Frederick Harder was born in Huron Twp is 1907. My mom has his birth certificate and it is gorgeous. Married Geraldine Smithee? Weatherbee?.(because my grandma was adopted, we know very little of her birth family, including her birth last name.)
I know there is a lot of Harder's that were born and/or lived in Bad Axe area. Could it be they are related or is it just a fluke?
I do know we have a crest of arms, which my aunt has and do have pedigree.
This "common" name is giving me grief, but I am on a mission for my mom, so any information to help make connections would be greatly appreciated.
