Thank you for your accolades, Elizabeth ~
I know the frustration of 'dead ends.'
I'm sorry to say that I have not yet run any of the names you've provided. I've checked my JoAnnas, Joans & Anns, thinking perhaps it was a second marriage to a Hardesty/Hardisty that earned her the surname.
Of those in my tree, JoAnna's date of birth (c1806) makes her eligible for only three possible fathers. She was not a child of William & Louisa. I mentioned Thomas (B 1773) and George HARDESTY, Jr. (B 1775) whom their mother bound out into servitude in 1786. I have been unable to discover whether these men ever married, but they are in the right time frame for your research.
Since my 2011 post, I now think it likely that the fourth Hardesty brother was David (c1773-c1855). In 1808, David is to have married Elizabeth TAYLOR (1787-1852, her second marriage). I do not know the identity of David's first wife, nor her date of death, but that initial union is also up for your consideration. According to 'A History of Kentucky Baptists From 1769 to 1885,' it is likely the David Hardestys were in Kentucky by 1806.
Good luck, and be sure to keep me posted if your journey takes you past any of these Hardestys.
