I do not have your specific Hargises but I have several that were married to Phelps and the Buchanans I have were married to associated family lines to the Hargises.

Arminta Phelps
b. December 06, 1881
d. September 27, 1919
married to
John Wilson Hargis
b. August 23, 1877
d. September 17, 1908

George Riley Phelps
b. October 09, 1856
d. March 07, 1954
married to
Matilda E. Hargis
b. January 06, 1862

H.G. Phelps
married to
Helen Chandler
Helen's Mother was a Mackey and the Mackey and Hargis lines are direct kin. and there were Several of them in Illinois

James W. Phelps
married to
Amanda Meece
the Meece lines mix in pretty tight with the Hargis lines too

John William Phelps
b. February 09, 1898
d. August 1962
married to
Millard Applegate
b. June 30, 1895
d. May 24, 1983
Applegates are mixed in with the Hargises

Martha B. Phelps
married to
Milton Hargis
b. November 1868

Nancy J. Catherine Phelps
b. June 08, 1871
d. August 24, 1945
married to
Robert Lee Hargis
b. March 19, 1870
d. October 09, 1944

I have a couple more Phelps but they are married to STICE or WOODALL

But at least one of the above Hargis / Phelps are buried in the Woodall Cemetery, so I am assuming a family tie.

Without really seeking back, I believe the STICE lines mix in with the BAKERS and there were marriages between BAKERS and HARGISes

so I feel these folks all knew of each other or were closely related, or inlaw related.

I hope maybe some of these may help you locate the Phelps, Hargises you are seeking. If you find them related, I would appreciate sharing the information too.

Thank you
