I'm looking for some information on a James Harkins of South Carolina. I'm pretty sure he is the father of William or Wm Harkins (1788-1861) who married Nancy Ann Stell in Morgan, Georgia. I'm a descendant of William Harkins. The Harkins eventually moved to Texas with Nancy Ann Stell's family. I've done some census searches and come up with a James Harkins who was living in Newberry, South Carolina in 1800, Pendleton, S.C. in 1820 and Anderson, S.C. in 1830. Because I can't find any age listings or family members on these census', I don't know if any of these are the right James Harkins or not. I'm also wondering if there's a connection between him and Hugh Harkins. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
