I have been researching HARKINSON in New York and Pennsylvania, I have just discovered that JAMES HARKINSON, spelled HARKISON in the record for naturalization papers filed in Centre County Pennsylvania Oct. 20, 1840. The paper lists his birthdate as 1812. Is listed as coming from Lanark, Scotland but used Glasgow because no one here knew where Lanark was . He has a brother ROGER HARKINSON born 1817, they are shown on 1850 census in Mifflin County Pennsylvania with family. If this is a Harkinson you are interested in let me know and I will be glad to share information. Best Wishes, Tom Davis
