Hi Eric,

I am a descentdent of Alexander Oswald Harley and Janet Wilson. According to family tradition his first wife, Ann Patrick and the new born baby died on the boat on the way to Australia. Supposedly at or around Cape Town, South Africa. I have looked but have never been able to find out any thing. The wedding ring of Ann Patrick was in the family (not my immediate family)until at least a few years ago.

James Harley was born in Inverkeithing, and I think, but cannot prove, that his parents were Robert Harley and Mary Downie.

Are you a relative? My mother was Janet May Harley, daughter of George Harley, who was the son of Alexander Oswald Harley.
