Milton, we have corresponded and talked before. Although not in your league, I am another Harley Family genealogist. My notes on William Jackson Harley indicate that "In 1841 he became Sheriff of the District of Barnwell County. By 1848 he owned 12,000 acres of property in the area. He was a Confederate soldier."
