Hi, there.
I have a David Harley born in Germany, married to a woman named Mary, living in Wisconsin and Minnesota(?). He fought in the 5th Wisconsin Regiment, during the Civil War, from what my grandmother told me. This would mean he had immigrated before 1860 and been born about 1840.
I found a David Harley, in the 1880 Census for Springbrook, Dunn, WI. He was listed as 38 years old and born in Wetenburg Prussia. Married to a woman named Mary, 28 years old born in Prussia. They had children Caroline R., Ellen, Frank W., and Laura C.E. listed in the census.
My connection is a son named Louis David Harley, born about 1900-02, died in 1947. Louis David Harley married Martha Gruesen in Duluth, MN. Their daughter was Katharine Harley. She is my grandmother.
I know nothing else, yet, about this part of my family and would appreciate any help.
Let me know if the names and dates match any of yours.
