I'm really happy that you replied. This is what I have on Walter Beauregarde Harley. He was born 16 July 1854, died 21 Sept 1931, married Georgianna Jeffcoat. She was born 23 August 1858, died about 1898, the daughter of Elijah H. Jeffcoat and Martha Ann Williamson. They had the following children: Lillian, Mary Elizabeth who married Charles M. Darby, John Lawton who married Clara E. Kimball, and Thomas Rayton (Raysor)Harley.

My Aunt Annie Laurie, 96 years old, said she remembers having a "Uncle Bully" and remembers something about one of the Harleys going to Alabama but not the name of who went or where in AL.

Another family researcher said that she found Walter Beauregarde Harley on the census in 1900 in Giddy Swamp, Aiken County, SC. I have not verified this yet.

Do you know the year Walter moved to AL? Have you ever heard him called "Bully"?

I sometimes have trouble with my email because I am still on dialup so I would like to correspond with you by snail mail also then I can send you hard copies of family data. My address is: Rachel K. Brown, 1262 Peach St. Neeses, SC 29107. This is in Orangeburg County and near where our Harleys lived.

Don't know where your're located but on Sept 11th in Harleyville, SC there will be a Harley Gathering at the Methodist church. This is for all Harleys. (Our Harleys came from there to Orangeburg County.) This is the day of the town's annual "See Saw Daze Festival". Come if you can.
