Deb,

I'm researching the family of Herman Edward Harms and Helen Friedricka Freese. In your posting, they are the family "next door" to John Harms. I don't know if your John Harms from Hanover is a relation to my Herman from Oldenburg.

Herman's parents were Martin Henry Harms, b 1816, and Anke Christiane Popken, b 1812. They immigrated from Oldenburg with their 4 children arriving June 10, 1852 on the Gaston sailing from Bremen.
