Deceased Name: Phillip G. Harms
CARLINVILLE - Phillip Gerald Harms, 74, of Carlinville died Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at St. John's Hospital.

He was born Aug. 11, 1932, in Carlinville, the son of George and Hazel Leach Harms. He married Charlotte Stinnett in 1952 in Carlinville.

Mr. Harms was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving as a medic. He worked for Allis- Chalmers, Little Dog Mine and Monterey Coal Mine and owned and operated Superior Carpet Cleaners from 1983 to 2004.

He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Carlinville, where he was an RA leader, Sunday school teacher and deacon. He also was a training union teacher.

Survivors: wife, Charlotte; two daughters, Debbie (husband, Butch) McDow of Carlinville and Joyce (husband, Bryan) Wagoner of Gillespie; son, Larry (wife, Alice) Harms of Carmi; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gene (wife, Dorothy) Harms of Girard and Donald (wife, Phyllis) Harms of Atwater; and several nieces and nephews.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville, the Rev. Darrell Molen officiating. Burial: Bethel Ridge Cemetery, rural Atwater.
