Frieda Sophia Harms, age 98, of Worthington, died Friday, February 29, 2008 at the Crossroads Care Center in Worthington. She was born on May 13, 1909, to parents, Thomas and Margaret (Eihausen) Harms, in Minneapolis, KS. As a child the family moved from Kansas to Canada. In later years, Lyle passed away and Frieda inherited the farm and purchased an additional 80 acres. Frieda continued to farm, raised livestock, cared for a variety of animals and had a large vegetable garden.

In 2002, Freida had a stroke and had to move to Southshore Care Center. She was there for about a year and then she was able to go back to the farm. Frieda eventually had to move back to a care center and was moved into Crossroads.

She is survived by one sister-in-law, Violet Harms, Adrian; nieces and nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and five sisters.

Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. Visitation will also be Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in rural Rushmore.

The service will be Tuesday at 10:30 AM at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in rural Rushmore with the Rev.ís William Kleymann and Dwight Chamberlain officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery in Rushmore.
