My grandfather's brother was Chester/Chet Harms. He was born and raised in Portland, Oregon and served as a naval officer in WW2. He died of cancer while serving aboard a destroyer in the South Pacific. Although I have never met him, my uncle, Chet whom one of my brothers is named after, had a son named David from a failed marriage. If my memory serves me right, David grew up in the San Francisco Bay area. Please let me know if my uncle Chet is the same person you are searching for, and if you have any information about David Harms' location. I have photos and personal affects of his dad.
