Thanks for the info on border VA NC and I'd figured that many of the family never left the family dinner table and yet they are said to have lived in several counties within a state.
There is still the possibility that some were effected by this change in the law so any point in early history which effected changes in the lives of folks means something.As it might explain why in one census a guy says he was born in VA then changes it to NC or later to SC or whaterver.
Just as REV WAR effected folks then as it meant some who had no land but served in it ended up in new areas to settle new lands so it's always important to know the history around the folks.
I'd seen the message and had noted that a number of my own family had started out in VA around this period of time and later ended up in NC.Also noted was that had seen fater and mother from VA area while they from NC...Also the story of Rev J Willis was worth passing on, as it showed another factor in family history.
