If you would supply more information, perhaps someone could help you. From a quick sequential peek at the Chowan censuses and marriage records, I have confirmed the following post from last year, by Melinda Larson:
From: [email protected]
Subject: [HARRELL] David HARRELL
Date: Tue, 27 Jul 2010 13:18:40 EDT
For those looking for additional information on any David HARRELL, I found
a marriage record for David HARRELL and Mary BURRUS 1 Feb 1810 Chowan Co.,
NC
I also found a David HARRELL b. c 1813 with wife Amy same age shown in the
1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880 Chowan Co., NC census records. They had
children Anna B., Mary, Josiah, Benjamin and Miles that I am aware of. I think
that this David may have had a brother named Elijah who was a year older and
married to Millie. They were living in very close proximity to one another
in the 1870 Chowan Co., NC census. Does anyone know who these 2 men were
and who the parents were?
Thank you,
Melinda Larson
Additionally, I can tell you that David Jr, Elijah, and James Harrell were enumerated side by side at Rockahock in 1840, and a David Harrell with large family was there in Chowan Co NC in 1830 and 1820.So it seems highly likely that your David Harrell Jr b 1812 with wife Amy Ashley was a son of David Harrell and Mary Burrus m 1810.Also, I can tell you that in 1870 David and Amy were living near several Ashley households.Combining the 1850 through 1870 censuses, their children appear to have been Josiah, Ann or Angy, May or Mary, Benjamin, and Miles.
