Jon, I beleive I can at least get you pointed in the right direction. The 1860 census of Solon Twp., Cuyahoga Ohio, Page 644, lists a Monroe Harriman ,age 42, born in Vermont. His famly is: Elizabeth, 26, born in Ireland---[a 2nd wife ?];dau.Iva, age 15, [she and the others allborn in Ohio]; dau,Mary, age 11; son Willis, age 2 months; and a dau. Allice[sic], age 2 months. Next door lives Anna all alone. She was born in Vermont ca 1794.
There is a Hazen Harriman listed in the 1820 census of Richmond, Chittenden Co., Vt.He is next found in the 1830 census 0f Madrid, St. Lawrence Co., N.Y. Then he is found in the 1840 census of Solon Twp., Ohio.
John Harriman, born ca 1622?, came to this country ca 1638. His family were in N.J.Some of his descendants went up to Vermont, on into Canada, back into N.Y. and then all over the country. They left records all over the place but few of them left the kind that connect them all up. So I feel-- no guarantees]--- that your line starts with John, descends to Hazen, born probably in N.J., possibly in Vt.,then on down as you have it.Berk
