North East, Durham, Wheatley Hill

I come from a small group of Harrimans from Durham in the North East of England and we have often wondered if we have any relations further afield.

My grandfather Arthur and his two brothers Albert and Harold were all adopted. Harold was killed in the first world war. Arthur, my grandfather married Ethel Thompson and had two children, Arthur, my father and Doris, his sister and lived in a village called Wheatley Hill.

My father, Arthur Harriman, married Rose Chapman and had two children, me, Philip and my sister Patricia, we also lived in Wheatley Hill. My fathers sister Doris, married Frank Allen and settled in Shirley, Birmingham, they have two children, Susan and David.

If anyone could help with where my grandfather and his two brothers originated from or any details about their parents, we would love to know.

Philip Harriman
London
