I think we are hunting for the same family father. I am research a cousin area of my husband's side of the family. I am looking for the father to one Allen Harrod born 1840 OH. and so far I have found Allen in 1850 census in the household of Levi and Darcus ( Dorcas ) Harrod. This Levi born cia about 1804 in PA. Following the suttle hints I have for Allen's family. Allen's son was born IA. cia 1890 putting the family in this state at that time. Checking FLDS Family search I possibly came up with Levi's and Allen on 1880's Black Hawk Co., IA. From this point I went over to the USGenWeb archival search feature and pulled up a few Harrods. One in particular caught my eye was the death of a Levi Harrod, 1884 Oct 29, in BLack Hawk Co. With luck, if any, that once I get his death information it may shed some light on where he was born, who is parents are and his wife's maiden name. But 1884 IA. death reg. where not prone to be so enlightening so I am not holding my breath. I have a few others things I want to look into too for Allen and Levi but kinda wanted to post this to see if our two HARROD families are the same.
