This is what I have so far that might help you. John James Harrod was b 23 Jun 1853 in Franklin co KY, and died 30 Mar 1930 in Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie, IA. He was the son of Celus/Silas/Selus Harrod and Sarah A. Hampton. John James married Nancy Anna Hodgerson abt 1900 in Macon co, MO. Nancy was b 23 Sep 1879 in Loami, Sangamon, IL and died 29 Nov 1918 in Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie, IA.
Celus/Silas/Seuls Harrrod was the son of Barnett Harrod and Charity Grugin, and was b abt 1826 in KY. His marriage bond with Sarah A. Hampton is dated 24 Aug 1850 in Franklin co KY.
Barnett Harrod was b abt 1802 in Orange co, VA and died in Franklin co, KY. He was the son of Benjamin Harrod and Elizabeth "Betsey" Blair. Barnett married Charity Grugin 16 Mar 1824 in Henry co, KY. Charity was the daughter of Paul Grugin and Nancy Calvert. (I've found some conflicting info online, but until I do more research, I'm sticking with this theory LOL) Charity died bef 7 Mar 1837, when Barnett married (2)Narcissa Calvert in Franklin co, KY.
Benjamin Harrod was b in Orange co, VA and died 25 Aug 1835 in Franklin co, KY. He married Elizabeth Blair 20 Apr 1796 in Orange co, VA.
In 1870 census, Miller, Gentry co, MO is Selus Harrod, 44 b KY, farmer $8,000 real property and $2,000 personal property. Wife Sarah is 45 b KY, son John J. 18 b KY and son Selus P. 15 b KY.
In 1860 census, Post Office Gentryville, Gentry co, MO is Celus Harrod, 34, farmer b KY, wife Sarah 35 b KY, John 6 b KY and Preston 4 b KY.
1850 census Dist #2, Franklin co, KY has Barnett Harrod, 48, farmer, b VA; 2nd wife Narcissa 43 b KY; son Silas 23, b KY and wife Sarah A. 23 b KY; Nancy 21 b KY; Barnett 10 b KY; George 8 b KY; John 5 b KY and Charity 3 b KY.
I haven't worked much on this line so far, and have just started again. I do have more info I'm still sorting and will post. I'm also sending you a separate email with a gedcom file showing complete info and sources.
