I have Absalom Harwood (could be spelled Harward,Hayward, Herrod, Harrod, Harrard..the family shows many variations) b. 2 Jul 1743 in VA/d. 1820 in NC. He was the son of Joseph b. abt 1690/d. 1820 and had a brother named Joseph. Absalom had a son, Malachi, b. 25 Sept. 1767 in NC/d. 4 Dec. 1848; m. Mary Herndon.

There is another Malachi Harward (1806-1854 NC), son of Jacob Myrick Harward (B. 12 Oct. 1783 Wake Co. NC/d. 30 Aug. 1866) and Miley Yeates. J.M. was the son of James Harrard (b. 1760/d. 1840) and Rose or Roseanah Barbee. James is assumed to be the son of William Harrard who died before March 6, 1805.

I have a Margaret Harward (granddaughter of Jacob Myrick, daughter of Beverly Daniel) who married a Mauldin in 1880. She married James Franklin Dave Maulding. So we know these two families connected at this point.

Hope this helps.
