Some facts pertaining to Reuben Hartsfield (1750s to 1830s):
--10 May 1780 - Jesse Meshew entered into Captain James Johnson's company of Georgetown District, South Carolina under Lieutenant Reuben Hartsfield.
--19 September 1788 land survey, 10 March 1789 survey certified, 2 February 1791 land grant for 150 acres in Georgetown District (now Horry County) on the northeast side of the Little Pee Dee River.
--8 March 1794 - Josiah Lewis sold 916 acres to Reuben Hartsfield.
--15 December 1794 land survey, 3 August 1795 survey certified and grant for 500 acres on Catfish Creek in Georgetown District (now Horry County), South Carolina under the act of 19 February 1791 "An Act of establishing the mode of granting the lands now vacant in this State, and for allowing a commutation to be received for some lands that have been granted."
--27 & 28 October 1797 - two deeds from Reuben & Sarah Hartsfield to Jocke John Phillips for the 916 acres sold to Reuben on 8 March 1794.
--1800 - United States Census for Kingston County, Georgetown District, South Carolina (now Horry County).(One male over 45, one female over 45, one male 10 to 16, one female 10 to 16, one female under 10).
--24 January 1806 - administrator for the estate of Samuel Treadwell, deceased, of Horry County, South Carolina.
--1810 - United States Census for Brunswick County, North Carolina.
--30 January 1816 - land entry in Brunswick County, North Carolina.
--1820 - United States Census for Brunswick County, North Carolina.
--1830 - United States Census for Perry County, Mississippi.
