Gay,
I have some information that may help you.Asa Hartfield b.1800,d.1848 was married first to Louisiana Reid.Asa had a sister Anna who was married to John McCallum.(These Families came to Miss. together)When Louisiana died in 1840, the McCallums took in the children--Martha Bridget, George Dameron, Henry Mounger, and Margaret.Asa then married John's sister Catherine who was known as Katie. They had Ronald, Andrew Denham, and Mary.Asa had a mercantile business in Mobile Al., and it was there that he died in a yellow fever epidemic.Asa's mother Elsie was still alive at the time, and was also living with the John McCallums.George was my gggrandfather.Asa was a lawyer and a judge, but didn't care for the profession. He had several mercantile partnerships. All the bros. served in war (Andrew in guard)Ronald was killed in battle of Franklin.Mary married a Hartfield cousin, also a George. Many of the above are burried in cem. just south of Hattiesburg on land once part of McCallum plantation.Asa was burried at Springhill near Mobile, although I have never been able to validate that.I have more info if you need.
