Another interesting sidenote is that the HARTZELL family (cousins of our John Hartsell) ended up in Bethlehem PA directly across the river from our Ettwein ancestors who started the Moravian (Church of the Brethren) community there at the same exact time. The Ettweins were my mother's maternal grandmother's ancestors.
Within the same "mother" church I found other ancestors by different names who'd been a part of her own extended family. They were all members of that same church where my father's Hartsell ancestor John is found there in Easton, PA. The same church is where my father's mother's ancestors were found also..Overfelt. They are still part of the Church of the Brethren in Boone's Mill, Va. I am wondering if in your research you may have found either the name Thomas or Overfelt mentioned.
My great grandfather, Samuel Overfelt, married Rose Thomas. They settled in Boone's Mill, Va. where a church of the Brethren still continues as part of their family tradition. I'm having a much harder time tracing this side of our family tree so am just wondering.
