You may receive information on Galizien German Descendants at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GalizienGermanDescendants/
This E-group is to share information between the Galizien German Descendants searching for their family history. Galicia (Galizien, Galicja), a former Austrian province, was a part of South - East Poland, today Western Ukraina.

I have created a new Group devoted only to Our Common Family. The website is the following:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/we_ourfamily/

This is a Yahoo Group only for people from families connected with themselves. The new member must prove that his family is connected with the Family listed here. By this way we may easily communicate, share our information, chat, put photos, interesting files or links etc.
I have listed here the following families:
PHILLIPS (Philips, Filips, Phillips, Phillipps), BAUMUNG, WALTHER, KITSCH, HARZ, MEHNER, KOHLBERG, RUECKER, HARTMANN, GROSSMANN, HAFNER, ROSE, WRONOWSKI, BARTOSZEWSKI, GROCHOLSKI, DABROWSKI, GÓRSKI (Gorski), FRĄCKOWIAK (Frackowiak), LECZYKIEWICZ, GRYNIA, BRYCH, STEFANSKI, ŻUKOWICZ (Zhukovich).
Any other Families are welcome to be listed (if connected with any above Family).
The Family Tree is still enlarged and you may see it on:

I would be grateful to get any information, especially in ready GEDCOM (genealogical data com) forms, just to add them to the existing Tree.

The Philipps family comes originally from Zilling in Lothringen (Lorraine, France) and next in 1784 they came to Galizien (then Austria, next Poland, today Ukraine) and are connected with such places in Galizien like Ugartsthal (Siwka by Kalusz), Kalusz, Knihinin (district of Stanislawow), Stanislawow (Stanislau, Ivano-Frankovsk), Lisko by Kamionka Strumilowska, Liczkowce by Kopyczynce. With theses place in Galizien are connected the Bartoszewski, Grocholski and Wronowski families.
A part of the family emigrated from Ugartsthal to Bukowina (Alexanderdorf and Katharinendorf).

The Frackowiak (Frackowiak) and Leczykiewicz families are connected again with West Poland (Wielkopolska)and such places like Groñsko and Bolewice by Lwowek or Pniewy - Nowy Tomysl, Kobylin, Krotoszyn. The Frackowiak emigrated also to Germany and France.

A branch of the family emigrated in 1840 from Galizien to Canada and lives today in Langenburg, Yorkton, Churchbridge, Landestrew, Saskatoon in Saskatchewan. Another branch of the family emigrated in 1836 from Zilling (Lorraine, France) also to Canada and was settled in Rainham Town, Haldiman Co., Ontario. These Philips from Ontario are also connected with Sitter, Reichheld and other families.
After 1940 some Philipps from Galizien were resettled to Germany and live today in Jena, East Germany). The others came after 1949 to Canada.

The Canadian members of the family use Phillips as their name, some French members use Phillipps. The German and Lorrainian members use Philipps.
