Addtional info on John Hartz. He was a tailor and he came to the U.S. with a brother. The brother went to Ohio and John settled in Richmond, Va. He was the second Captian of the Virginia Rifles. Elected to that post May of 1853 and served in that position until1 1856. This info taken from the book " Richmond Volunteers 1861-1865 by Louis H. Mariarin
