I'm not familiar with the family names you mention although I am familiar with the story of our Hartzog ancestors who lived in Orangeburg, S.C. My gr-grandfather was John Hartzog, son of Wiley and Epsey (Lee) Hartzog of Barbour County. Unfortunately I have no information on the Prevost/Jewell/Simmons lines. Neither do I know of Jay Hildebrand. If I run across anything I'll be sure to let you know.

I do have a lot of Hartzog information, esp. my line of Hartzogs, including some photographs, the earliest of which is of John Hartzog and his wife, Lou Trammell. I currently am compiling all my Hartzog information into a memorybook. Since I keep receiving new information I have no idea when I'll be able to complete it! It's wonderful to find new bits and pieces about the family.
