Donna, I am so thrilled to see your messages. I have been trying for years to get info on the Smith/Hartzog line. You have really filled in some gaps for me. David Smith and Mary were my husband's great grandparents through their son King Benjamin. My husband's mother would never tell us anything of her family so I did not know where to begin. King Benjamin came to Houston about 1900 and his wife died two years later. If you are interested in any of this, just let me know. I believe I may have found the Hartzog's, but now sure. You said you had a pic of David. I would love to have it if you will share. Can you scan it to me? Also, are you descended from David Smith? Please let me hear from you.
