In the name of God Amen
I Tobias Hartzog of the County of Orange and State of South Carolina Planter, Being in good health and perfect memory Blessed be God therefore, do this tenth day of May in the thirteenth year of American Independence and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & Eighty Nine, Make and publish this my last Will of Testament in manner and form following _________. I commend my soul into the hands of almighty God he Gave it me and my Body to the Earth from when it came in hopes of a Joyful Resurrection through the merits of our Savour Jesus Christ and as for the Worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me I dispose thereof as follows, First, I give to my loving wife the third part of my real & personal Estate for & during the term of her Natural Life, and after her Death the said part shall be Equally divided among my Children. Then I give to my son George the plantation or Tract of Land containing two hundred & fifty acres where I now lives in three track adjoining one containing one hundred acres & one containing one hundred acres adjoining on North Edisto, and one fifty acres of Land adjoining to the other two tracks, and an Equal share of my goods & Chattels with his Brothers and Sisters. Then I give to my Daughter Elizabeth, Margaret, Barbarah, Mary Ann, and Catherina all the rest of both my real & personal Estate to be equally divided amongs my sons & daughters it is my will that none of my children or their heirs shall dispose or sale any part of my Estate, but it shall be kept intaitd to them their heirs and assigns for ever. Notwithstanding the rents or profits _____ from their share they shall have the benefit for and during their lives. I make and ordain my loving wife, Mary Hartzog my son George and Daughter Margaret to be my Sole Executors of this mylast will and Testament, to take care and see the same performs according to my true intend and meaning.
In witness whereof I the said Tobias Hartzog have to this my last will and Testament Set my hand and seal the year within written.

Personally appeared before me and being duly sworn maketh oath that he saw the within mentioned Tobias Hartzog sign seal this as his act and ___ the above testament as his last will & also that he saw Tobias Hartzog ___ Sign his name with him as a witness to the same.
